BORANA LODGE
Borana Lodge is perched on the slope of a hidden valley overlooking a waterhole where animals come to drink. Intimate and exclusive, it is one of Kenya's premiere safari lodges. For many people the Borana landscape is Africa. Built mainly from fallen cedar, and virtually wholly constructed from natural materials, the lodge blends with the craggy stone outcrops of the escarpment - indeed they are incorporated into the building in several places - and almost appears to grow organically from the hillside.

The rock hyrax that live in the rocky overhangs certainly find the lodge very much to their taste, and appear to be checking out the guests as they sip their morning coffee! Vast windows in the drawing room allow wide panoramic views across the arid grasslands and all the interior spaces use and reflect the light and space of the surrounding plains. Decoration also emphasizes the natural and uses neutral tones, African prints, and a variety of polished woods including a wonderful rosewood table, leathers and butter-soft suede.
