  VENTURE INTO THE WILDS OF BOTSWANA ON THIS 10 DAY MOBILE CAMPING SAFARI. STARTING IN MAUN, YOUR GROUP OF 7 OR LESS WILL FLY IN A LIGHT AIRCRAFT NORTH INTO THE WETLANDS OF THE OKAVANGO DELTA. THE DELTA, WHERE ITS ABUNDANCE OF WATER ALLOWS FOR BOATING SAFARIS, MOKORO CANOE RIDES AND WILDLIFE WALKS. OTHER HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE THE MOREMI GAME RESERVE, THE ELEPHANTS OF CHOBE AND A NIGHT IN VICTORIA FALLS. WHILE CAMPING YOU’LL SLEEP IN SPACIOUS DOME TENTS, WITH CAMP BEDS AND FULL LINENS. ENJOY HOT SHOWERS AND DELICIOUS MEALS PREPARED BY THE CAMP CHEF.
 
DAY 1 - JOHANNESBURG / MAUN / OKAVANGO DELTA  
After arriving in Johannesburg this morning you will connect with the 10:00am Air Botswana flight to Maun arriving at 11:40am. After clearing customs you will be met and assisted aboard your light aircraft flight into the heart of the Okavango Delta.

This unique flood plain, is the largest inland delta in the world, formed by the rains in Angola and the Okavango River which flows into what was once part of the Kalahari Desert. The Okavango is a wildlife paradise, which you will explore by vehicle, on foot, mokoro (dugout canoe) and boat for some of the best wildlife viewing anywhere. Depending on game concentrations you could expect to find giraffe, hippo, crocodile, lion, leopard, elephant, zebra, lechwe, kudu, buffalo, reedbuck and many other species, plus over 600 types of birds visit the area. The flora too provides a fascinating glimpse into the intricate ecology of the Delta.

After you land at the nearby airstrip, you will be met by your guide and a member of the staff and driven to your campsite, spotting wildlife on the way. The camp is set up in advance of your arrival on a private wildlife concession – which allows for off-road driving and hiking, things not allowed in National Parks. After lunch at camp, depart on an afternoon game drive, stopping at sunset for sundowners before returning to camp for a wonderful three course dinner. After dinner enjoy a drink around the campfire with the vast African sky overhead.

DAY 2 - OKAVANGO DELTA  
Today you will arise with the sun and set out on an early morning game drive or walk. Return to camp for a late breakfast, before heading out in the afternoon on another game drive, or mokoro ride. Overnight - Private Camping in Sandibe Concession (all meals & activities)

DAYS 3/4 - MOREMI WILDLIFE RESERVE  
This morning after a leisurely breakfast you will return to the airstrip and head further into the delta to the Moremi Wildlife Reserve. After you land will be met and driven to the Khwai area of the Park. This outstanding reserve, tucked into the north eastern sector of the Okavango, was set aside in 1963 by the Batawana tribe, and is rated as one of Africa's greatest wildlife sanctuaries. Moremi contains a network of waterways that surrounds two large islands, with a diverse ecosystem made up of riverine woodland, flood plains, wetlands, reed beds, mopane forest and dry savannah. During the dry winter months from to March to September, wildlife viewing is excellent with lion, elephant, leopard, hyena, eland, kudu, roan antelope, giraffe, zebra, impala and buffalo regularly seen. And on the sandy riverbanks and wetlands, sightings of hippos and crocodiles are commonplace. Your days here will be spent on extensive wildlife viewing drives. DAYS 5/6 - SAVUTE CHANNEL  
Today you travel east by road to the Savute area of Chobe National park and spend two nights camping next to the dry Savute Channel. Savute has many pans that retain water for several months after the rains, attracting great concentrations of wildlife. Elephants, plains game and some 350 species of birds can be found here and Savute is renowned for it’s lions and other predators.

After lunch, set out on an afternoon game drive, returning to camp before dark. The next day you will go on extensive game drives in this fabulous area. Overnight - Private camp in the Savute area (all meals &activities)


DAYS 7/8 - CHOBE NATIONAL PARK  
This morning after breakfast you drive north to the heart of Chobe National park. Chobe, is the second largest national park in Botswana, covers over 6,700 square miles. It’s constant water supply supports great concentrations of wildlife. The park covers a wide variety of country, from riverine forest, flood plains and periodic marsh to the sporadic rocky outcrops such a diversity of habitats implies a wide variety of wildlife from water animals. In the southern area of the park lies the Mababe depression where early in the year the Zebra migration takes place.

The park is also famous for its elephants, which are part of what is the largest surviving continuous elephant population on earth. The elephants cover most of northern Botswana and north-western Zimbabwe, and it is estimated that there are over 100,000 of them in the Chobe-Kasane area alone. The Chobe elephants are migratory, making seasonal movements of up to 200 miles from the Chobe and Linyanti rivers, where they concentrate in the dry season, to the pans in the south-east of the park.

During your days here you will have an opportunity to spend many hours watching the huge herds in and around the waters of the Chobe River. Northern Chobe has beautiful scenery and magnificent sunsets, with a large variety of bird and animal life. Overnight - Private camping in Chobe National Park (all meals & activities)


DAY 9 - VICTORIA FALLS  
It’s a short drive from Chobe to Victoria Falls, one of the world’s most awe-inspiring sights. Your stay here will give you a chance to wash off Botswana’s dust, relax over a cold drink, and enjoy the varied entertainment and facilities at Victoria Falls. Your entrance fee to the falls is included in the safari. Your stay here will be at the Matetsi Water Lodge. Situated 25 miles upstream from the magnificent Victoria Falls, Matetsi extends over 111,000 acres of pristine African wilderness – the largest private wildlife concession in the country. With 9 miles of exclusive Zambezi River frontage. This spectacular safari lodge comprises three separate intimate camps, each with just six elegant suites with private plunge pools and decks. You will arrive in time for lunch, then it time to visit the falls, returning in the afternoon. Relax for the remainder of the day. Overnight - Matetsi Water Lodge (all meals & activities)

DAY 10 - VICTORIA FALLS / END OF SAFARI  
Meet your group for a leisurely breakfast and say good-bye to your safari companions before being transferred to the airport to catch your afternoon flight back to Johannesburg.

ABOUT THE CAMPS -  
While camping you will sleep in spacious dome tents with mosquito proofing and sewn-in ground sheets with Camp beds with full linens, towels, bedside table and reading lamps. Camp facilities include flush toilets and hot bucket showers including shampoos and conditioners. All camping equipment is supplied and the camp is set up and dismantled by the camp staff. Enjoy three course Meals including wine with dinner. All luggage and camp equipment is carried on a separate supply vehicle. Camps in National Parks are reserved annually in private HATAB Campsites where your group will be the only one in the area. Camps are also situated on private reserves, so activities such as walking, night game drives and mokoro riding can be undertaken.
