  RELAX IN LUXURY ON THE BANKS OF THE ZAMBEZI RIVER, JUST A SHORT WAYS FROM THE THUNDEROUS VICTORIA FALLS BEFORE SPENDING SEVERAL DAYS WILDLIFE VIEWING AT CHOBE NATIONAL PARK IN BOTSWANA.
 
DAY 1 - LIVINGSTONE ZAMBIA / MOSE OA TUNYA  
You will be met off your flight into Livingstone, Zambia and driven to the nearby Sussi Lodge, situated on the northern edge of the Mosi Oa Tunya National Park. This small parks name comes from the people who have lived here for eons and means “Smoke Which Thunders”, as it is situated next to the mighty Victoria Falls. This is one of the few places you can see the rare white Rhino. You may also see Giraffe, Buffalo, Zebra, Sable, Eland, Wildebeest and migrating Elephants, often wallowing in shallow pools near the banks of the Zambezi River.

Sussi Lodge is a luxury lodge set on a sweeping bend of the Zambezi River, just 10 minutes upstream from the falls themselves. Guest accommodations consist of 10 luxury tree-houses, built into the living canopy of giant ebony trees lining the bank. Each unit has a private view of the Zambezi from its own deck set among the branches. The main lodge building features a raised bar and lounge deck, open air dining area, swimming pool and lawns sweeping down to the water’s edge where resident wildlife, such as hippopotamus and elephant often wander through on their way in and out of the park.

After lunch, you may depart on an afternoon game drive in the park, go for a swim, even try your hand at fishing, or relax on your deck watching the river with a cool drink. Dinner is served in the dining area or under the stars next to the bonfire.

DAY 2 - MOSE OA TUNYA – VICTORIA FALLS  
This morning after breakfast you will depart on an early morning game drive into the Park, returning for lunch. After lunch it’s time to go visit the falls with your guide accompanying you. After your visit to the falls you will be driven to the dock to board your boat for a sunset cruise up the Zambezi. After the cruise you will be met and returned back to the lodge for dinner under the stars. Overnight - Sussi Lodge (all meals & activities)

DAY 3 - CHOBE NATIONAL PARK - BOTSWANA  
This morning after breakfast you will be met and driven to the river crossing over to Botswana via ferry boat, and then continue on to Chobe National park. Chobe, is the second largest national park in Botswana, covers over 6,700 square miles. It’s constant water supply supports great concentrations of wildlife. The park covers a wide variety of country, from riverine forest, flood plains and periodic marsh to the sporadic rocky outcrops such a diversity of habitats implies a wide variety of wildlife from water animals. In the southern area of the park lies the Mababe depression where early in the year the

Zebra migration takes place. The park is also famous for its elephants, which are part of what is the largest surviving continuous elephant population on earth. The elephants cover most of northern Botswana and north-western Zimbabwe, and it is estimated that there are over 100,000 of them in the Chobe-Kasane area alone. The Chobe elephants are migratory, making seasonal movements of up to 200 miles from the Chobe and Linyanti rivers, where they concentrate in the dry season, to the pans in the south-east of the park.

You will arrive at Chobe Chilwero Lodge in time for lunch. The lodge is situated in the Kasane Forest Reserve bordering Chobe National Park and the30 guests are accommodated in 15 twin luxury cottages, all of which are designed to blend in perfectly with the natural vegetation of the surrounding area. Each cottage consists of a large combined lounge and bedroom area, an en suite bathroom, private garden and a thatched “sala” or veranda furnished with hammocks and chairs. The public area consists of an elegant lounge and dining room with large open fireplaces and outdoor viewing terrace overlooking the spectacular Chobe floodplain and river. An unusual feature of the terrace is a pizza oven. The Lodge also boasts a swimming pool, library, wine cellar, curio shop and e-communications center.

During your days here you will have an opportunity to spend many hours watching the huge herds in and around the waters of the Chobe River by 4x4 and by boat. Northern Chobe has beautiful scenery and magnificent sunsets, with a large variety of bird and animal life. Overnight - Chobe Chilwero Lodge (all meals & activities)


DAY 4 - CHOBE NATIONAL PARK  
Enjoy two more days of wildlife activities in the park. Overnight - Chobe Chilwero Lodge (all meals & activities)

DAY 5 - CHOBE NATIONAL PARK / LIVINGSTONE ZAMBIA  
This morning after breakfast you will be met and driven back to Livingstone, Zambia, arriving at the airport in time to catch your afternoon flight back to Johannesburg or to your lodge for the evening.
