HOW TO BOOK A SAFARI: 
Once you have decided on a safari and specific dates,  your Safari Specialist will reserve your space (for small group set departure safaris), or request space at the various camps and lodges (for a custom safari). We usually will have confirmation within 24 to 48 hours. 

1. PROVISIONAL BOOKING: Once your space has been reserved,  your safari will be held on a PROVISIONAL BASIS (no obligation until you confirm) for up to 3 weeks before a  20% non-refundable deposit is required. This allows time to arrange International airfare and to confirm other arrangements.

We will also send you a comprehensive "Pre-Departure" package, that contains your detailed itinerary, maps, brochures for the camps and lodges you will be staying at, medical advise, VISA requirements, packing suggestions, Travel Insurance options and other important information. 

We also require that our clients sign and return a Terms & Conditions form, Personal Information form and a Credit Card Authorization form (unless you are paying by check).

2. DEPOSIT: 3 weeks after your Provisional Booking is made a  20% non-refundable deposit (excluding air costs) is required to hold and confirm your space. Occasionally some individual lodges will require a deposit within a shorter time period.

3. FINAL PAYMENT: Your final payment is due 60 days prior to your departure. 

4. FINAL DOCUMENTS: After your final payment is received - your final documents will be sent 3 weeks before your departure. These include your final detailed itinerary, vouchers, detailed maps, wildlife guides,  medical requirements, tipping guidelines, Emergency contact numbers and airline tickets.

Cancellation penalties:
 - Up to 61 days prior to departure  20% of land cost
 - 60 to 46 days prior to departure  50% of land cost
 - 45 to 31 days prior to departure  70% of land cost  
 - 30 to 0 days prior to departure 100% of land cost

No refunds are given for lost travel time or for itineraries amended after departure or for circumstances arising beyond our control.

All bookings are accepted by Africa Safari Specialists as an agent for independent overseas ground operators, hotels, airlines, bus companies, ground transportation companies, boat purveyors or owners and other independent contractors providing accommodations, ground transportation and/or other services.
